This paper will examine the history of the corset. The history will be examined in comparison to the corsets symbolic value to the position of women during the ears it was a fundamental piece to every women's wardrobe. The oppression of women as some veiw t will be discussed along with other comments by historians nad feminists on the issue of the corset and history.
