This paper will outline a process for creating the antecedent conditions that foster task cohesion within a hockey team. It will be argued that many of the neat formulas to foster cohesion within a team, as outlined in academic research, may be inapplicable or irrelevant on the ice. Thus, as will be seen, the key requirement in building team cohesion is not the following of a detailed sequential plan so much as the capacity to improvise and adapt to changing circumstances. 5 pgs.
