This paper will present an architectural analysis of Umayyad Palaces in the 7th and 8th Centuries A.D. By understanding the examples of Arabian architecture of Islam's first wealthy families, we can see a direct emphasis placed on Palace design, which would help set trends for Arab architecture for centuries after their creation in the Middle East.
