This paper examines The Man of Law's Tale in the context of Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. The paper shows that the tale is similar to the other tales in that it portrays a story that is highly improbable, with many bizarre developments occurring completely by chance. The tale is also unique and clearly distinguishable from the other tales in that it does not deal in sarcasm, but holds up certain values in a respectable way. 8 pgs. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
