This paper compares the Canadian banking industry and the Canadian airline industry in terms of competitive strategies based on Michael Porter's diamond Strategy of National Advantage, showing why the banking industry thrives while the airline industry has suffered because of the change in the world market after the 9-11 attacks in America, showing how banking recovered and the airlines did not.
